What We Do

Discover how the Foundation supports our alma mater with the generous donations of SJHS past students and corporate sponsors.

Every small act of kindness creates a ripple of positive change.

The organization boasts a history of securing scholarships to universities for students who have displayed outstanding academic or sports achievements. It is constantly reinventing itself to maintain relevance in its contribution to the school’s overall success.

Nutrition Program

At the start of the 2024-2025 track season, the directors met with the new girls Head Coach, Mr. Joseph Small, with a mandate from our Managing Director, to “SUPPORT him and FIRE HIM UP to do his job”. One of Coach Small’s priorities was to ensure that the girls receive balanced meals and vitamin supplements to build their strength.

The Foundation will increase its support to the nutrition program so that more students, boys and girls, may benefit from this worthy effort.

Transportation

A donation of two buses was made to the school by the foundation to transport students on field trips, training and special events. Funding is also provided for additional transportation needs and related costs, including vehicle maintenance, repairs and insurance.

Housing

Out-of-town and international students are accommodated in the Foundation sponsored houses.

Infrastructural development

The Foundation was instrumental in helping with the
building of a state-of-the-art gym facility at Ravensworth, home of SJHS. Other projects, including the auditorium renovation, and upgrades to the school’s playing field and jump pits, are beneficiaries of the Foundation’s financial support.

Athletics Program

The Foundation has made, and continues to make, significant investments in the SJHS Track and Field Program, a program that has proudly produced many Olympians, World Champions, and, boys and girls champions at local and international events. Through its financial support of the school’s Training and Recovery program, student athletes are granted access to professional trainers and physical therapists.

Collaboration With Puma

Through the Foundation’s association With Puma, the world
renown sportwear manufacturer, SJHS Track and Field Program is the beneficiary of athletic apparel, footwear, and financial support.

Collaboration with local entities

The Foundation forged a relationship with P.A. Benjamin Manufacturing Company Ltd., a major pharmaceutical company in Jamaica, to supply SJHS With needed for their Training and Recovery Program.

Achievement Awards

In recognition of teacher and student successes, the Foundation donates cash awards to worthy recipients.
