Olympian and former Jamaican international sprinter brings elite experience, championship pedigree and a renewed vision for developing the next generation of champions.
The St. Jago Foundation has announced the appointment of Olympian, former Jamaican international sprinter and St. Jago High School alumna Juliet Campbell as Director of Operations of the school’s Track & Field Programme.
Campbell returns to the institution where her own athletic journey began, bringing elite competitive experience, professional sports insight and a deep connection to the St. Jago community. Her appointment represents a full-circle moment for the school and reflects a renewed commitment to developing disciplined, confident and well-supported student-athletes.
A specialist in the 200m and 400m, Campbell is a three-time Olympian, proudly representing Jamaica at the Barcelona 1992, Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Her distinguished international career also included appearances at the World Championships, World Indoor Championships, Commonwealth Games and Central American and Caribbean Games. She competed individually in the 200m and 400m and proudly donned the national colours as a member of Jamaica’s 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams, including appearances at the 1998 and 2002 Commonwealth Games and the 2001 and 2003 World Indoor Championships.
A Return to Where It All Began
Campbell’s connection to St. Jago makes her appointment particularly significant. As a student, she initially competed in the high jump before transitioning to the 400m, a move that ultimately set her on a path to international competition. She later competed collegiately for Auburn University in the United States before building an accomplished career representing Jamaica.
Following her retirement from competitive athletics, Campbell remained active in sport, including serving as a Sports Marketing Manager with Puma. That experience expanded her perspective beyond competition into sports business, management and professional development.

A New Era for St. Jago Athletics
Campbell assumes leadership at a time when the St. Jago Foundation and the school are focused on strengthening the systems, resources and support available to student-athletes. Her first-year priorities will include talent identification and athlete development, enhanced coaching and training systems, performance monitoring, academic and character support together with stronger structures for sustaining high performance.
The goal is to consistently develop athletes capable of competing at the national and international levels while maintaining a strong focus on academic achievement and personal growth.
For Campbell, returning to her alma mater is deeply personal.
“St. Jago gave me the beginning of my journey, and coming back now in this capacity is incredibly meaningful to me. I know what it feels like to be a young athlete with a dream. I also know that talent alone is not enough. You need discipline, guidance, structure, confidence and people who believe in you.”

I want them to understand that representing this school is something to be proud of, but I also want them to see beyond the next race. Building Champions On and Off the Track
As Director of Operations of the Track & Field Programme, Campbell will provide strategic leadership while working closely with coaches and student-athletes to strengthen talent development, training systems and the structures required to sustain high performance. Her leadership will also focus on building a culture of accountability, teamwork, resilience and excellence.
