It is the vibrant environment and favorable atmosphere which makes people to grow and be successful consisting with sound mentality, perseverance and diligence followed with strong willpower.
Our 24th year in the Development field of its dedicated service to upliftment of the under privilege children, women and deprived communities in rural and urban settlements of two states Jharkhand and Bihar our journey has been full of learning, with the plenty of both, successes and challenges. At a time when the institution was formed, when social, economic, political, cultural, and environmental issues had been unleashed in the Giridih district. In last decade the government made several important laws such as Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005, Right to Information Act, 2005, Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009, Forest Right Act 2006, Child Marriage Prohibition Act 2006, Child Protection Act 2006 & so on. But the information of law has not reached among the peoples. So JAGO Foundation evolved over time and emerged successful in many ways as an organization of spreading awareness among people etc. It made impacts in the lives of various segments of community groups, say children, youth, women, tribal, leprosy affected people etc. who have been vulnerable and continue to be so.
Over the past year, we have been implementing programs in full throttle, allowing us to create rural models in the field of child rights, adolescent development, livelihood & health interventions and education and urban models of livelihood for leprosy affected people. Esteemed organizations like Jamshed Ji Tata Trust, CRY (Child rights and You), Centre for World Solidarity, Sasakawa India Leprosy Foundation, Srijan Foundation, Catholic Health Association of India, Child Line India Foundation, District Legal Service Authority, Govt. departments and UNICEF have supported the documentation of our models. Our Trustees have always played a crucial role in the growth and capacity-building of the organization. We would like to thank our Trustees and Governing Board members for their continued guidance and unstinting support as we continue on our journey. Finally, I would like to thank the true ‘heroes’ of the organization – our staff who toil hard in demanding environments to improve the social status to take us closer to our vision.
